The parish of Blanchardstown, an old parish once covering a large rural area, has changed dramatically since its origins, especially in recent years (see History). It is now a bustling vibrant cosmopolitan parish whose boundaries encompass both rural and suburban areas – from the cottages at Cappogue to the apartments and duplexes in Pelletstown, from the Blanchardstown Centre to the village Main Street – and comprises approximately 7,000 homes.
Blanchardstown is a blend of the old and the new, the local and the international, the modern and the traditional. St. Brigid’s, the parish church, is located just off Main Street in the heart of the village.
