Sep 2025 - Recruitment of Faith Development Worker
St Brigid’s Parish, Blanchardstown has a vacancy for a partnership Faith Development Worker (35 hours per week).
The Parish is in partnership with Corduff and Mulhuddart.
The role currently envisages 4 days per week in Blanchardstown and 1 day per week in Corduff.
Main Responsibilities:
- Animating and working with others – in particular, significant work on team building with a view to modelling and nurturing full, intentional and active participation in the life of the parish in partnership.
- Developing approaches to prayerful reflection and linking family opportunities to the regular celebration of the Liturgy.
- Contributing to the animation of, and the enrichment of, the parishes’ liturgical and sacramental celebrations.
- Building community through quality relationships.
- Making best use of technology and social media, in an age-appropriate way, to relate to a variety of individuals and groups.
- Liaising with key school personnel to develop the parish-school relationships. Enhancing the links between schools and parish community.
- Coordinating faith development opportunities.
- Using the principles of the RCIA as the model for all catechesis.
- Supporting the development of sacramental preparation.
The successful candidate will ideally hold a Master’s degree in a pastoral, theological, or related discipline, with a minimum of 1 years’ experience ministering in a parish setting. They will have experience of parish catechesis, of establishing and training teams and ideally at least one year of pastoral training. Awareness of safeguarding best practice and appropriate responses to concerns about safety or welfare is also essential.

Contract: This is a 3-year fixed-term contract and a 6-month probationary period will apply.
Hours of Work: 35 hours per week. Reliability and flexibility are expected in relation to working hours. Note: Some evening and weekend work will be part of the job.
Remuneration: €38,000 – €45,000 pa, depending on experience
